ABOUT HOPİ
Hopi, launched by Boyner Group in 2015, is a loyalty app that offers a personalized shopping experience using big data. It cooperates with brands from clothing to technology, from travel to food in many different sectors. It delivers campaigns suitable for its users, lifestyles, tastes, and needs and enhances the shopping experience as it is used. Hopi processes 15M real-time data on a daily basis, has a 65 TB data size, 8500 beacons, 40 different data sources, and 16.5K + POS.THE PROBLEM
Hopi was managing incoming user traffic using Google Compute Instances with an in-house load-balancer, a traditional approach that introduced legacy challenges. The fixed server capacity prevented Hopi from scaling resources adaptively in response to traffic demands, leading to inefficiencies. Additionally, it was difficult to differentiate between legitimate users and malicious actors, making the system vulnerable and harder to secure effectively.THE SOLUTION
Hopi partnered with Kartaca to implement Cloud Armor, integrating it seamlessly with their Kubernetes infrastructure via Google Cloud’s Ingress Controller. The transition was smooth, eliminating the need for complex security configurations. Cloud Armor’s Adaptive Protection identified and mitigated threats in real time, preventing potential attacks. Predefined and custom security rules allowed Hopi to craft access policies specific to their service needs, enhancing security.RESULTS
- Proactive real-time detection and mitigation tailored to Hopi’s unique traffic patterns
- Adaptive scaling to efficiently manage high-traffic promotional campaigns
- Streamlined security management, allowing Hopi to focus on enhancing user experiences
- Custom access controls that safeguard Hopi’s loyalty platform and user data
