THE PROBLEM
[Confidential Client] from public services sector has 100+ microsites. The existing infrastructure was no longer meeting the growing needs; it became slow and unreliable, resulting in poor user experience. They realized they could not pick up their pace with their existing systems and tools setup and needed optimization, so they cooperated with us to gain the capabilities required for database modernization and increased computing.
THE SOLUTION
Kartaca optimized their Google Kubernetes Engine setup by running their MongoDB and RabbitMQ services on Compute Engine, set up a cluster structure in MongoDB and RabbitMQ, and migrated compute instances to a new one. We changed their single zone and non-cluster MongoDB configuration to a distributed and clustered structure, configured it for redundancy, and optimized query performance.
RESULTS
- A modern infrastructure that enables better and more responsive services to citizens
- Improved the overall experience and making it more convenient via better scalability of their resources, handling increased traffic and workloads more efficiently
- Improved the reliability and availability of its applications, reducing downtimes
- Cost advantages with the reduced number of instances
